Description
A celebration of Scotland’s favourite poet Robert Burns in music, poetry and food. An exhilarating mix of traditional Scottish folk music from Alex Ennis and Sam Patten from Arquebus Trio begins the evening. Followed by some traditional dancing (the caller will give instructions and everyone can join in!).
Then to the dining room for the Selkirk grace and to address the (vegan) haggis. Enjoy a delicious plant-based meal with our modern vegan homage to the traditional Burns night supper. A bright green leek and watercress soup followed by vegan haggis with tatties and neeps and a bowl of raspberry cranachan to finish, plus a dram of whisky to toast the haggis. Lighter and leaner but still full of traditional Scottish flavours. We dine on large shared tables and warmly welcome solo diners to join us to make new friends and acquaintances!
When the tables are cleared, we will learn/remember the words to Auld Lang Syne (properly) and have a great sing along to end the evening!
