Celebrate in style with us! Ashley Court is the perfect location for a small but beautiful wedding, a relaxed family birthday or other special event. We cater for gatherings of 4 to 140 people. As formal or informal as you choose. Ideal if you are looking for a genuinely relaxed event with a big country house feel, photogenic ‘shabby-chic’ interiors and gardens and a ‘place that time forgot’ feel. More personal and quirky than a boutique hotel, with no two rooms alike. Much of the furniture, has been in situ for 80 years or more and most fixtures and fittings date back to the Regency and early Victorian period. We use a mix of vintage, antique and modern textiles, cutlery and crockery to dress these rooms to give them an eclectic ‘period’ look, they make beautiful settings for photo shoots and videos (and your Instagram account).

From a simple champagne cream tea in the morning room and a wander in the walled garden with just a few close friends to a formal sit down dinner in the candle lit dining room with a roaring fire, any combination of indoor and outdoor spaces can make an atmospheric and memorable day. Simple and elegant elopement weddings

Our Morning Room is a beautiful and atmospheric setting for your ceremony, with a maximum of 6 guests. Windows on 2 sides, looking out to a tree-lined vista, with period decor. Available Monday to Thursday 10.00-12.30 or 2.00-4.00pm. £500. Drinks and catering are available, please enquire for more details.

Small is Beautiful

Our drawing room can hold up to 50 guests for your ceremony. A beautiful light room with garden views – gold rococo pelmets, grand piano, Adam-esque fireplace and glass doors opening onto the terrace and gardens. Hire price from £1500, which includes use of our grand dining room for refreshments, high teas, cream teas, finger buffet etc.

Country House wedding

A romantic, vintage style country house wedding for up to 100 guests in house and gardens. Sole use of drawing room, dining room, entrance hallway and morning room, plus gardens.

Venue hire £3000. Marquee available. 5 lovely bedrooms available for guests. We can tailor your wedding for your individual needs

Catering – Eat with us!

We provide a real taste of the Devon countryside with our delicious plant-based menus. Vegetables have pride of place at our table and we cook and eat seasonally, slowly and in tune with nature. Most of our produce is grown by no-dig organic methods in the walled kitchen garden or foraged from our fields and hedgerows (you may be able to join in with harvesting for your dinner.) Our menus are based on our own decades-long commitment to vegetarian and vegan food. This is how we cook and eat for family and friends, and for you. We limit our food miles to suppliers that are truly local to us apart from a few best loved products like lemons, coffee and rice that we source from ethical suppliers. For your wedding celebrations we offer a range of catering, including simple tea and cakes, or high teas, cream teas, fork buffet, grande buffet table, sit-down wedding breakfast. We can recommend our favourite and trusted ethical, local and organic cake makers and florists to put the finishing touches to your event.

Bedrooms

You can book up to 5 bedrooms for up to 9 people to stay, babes in arms are free, cots, cot/toddler beds and extra single beds for kids can be added as needed for a family event.
